As some of you may know, we recently had to put my dog down which has been pretty emotional for me. To help my work through some of those emotions, I have been doing a lot of pastels again. I'll admit, I haven't done any since I got married last September, partially because symbolically I wanted my first pastel signed as Angela Fairbanks to represent me and my husband and what with being newlyweds and buying and moving into our first home—it just wasn't my top priority. I have loved getting back into it though and I'm sure Nate appreciates the art supplies all over our living room. Here is my work from this last week or so. Enjoy! If you are interested in purchasing any of these pieces, contact me. Or you can commission a piece of your own. Soon prints and originals will be available for purchase in the AF Store. The First Tree (2010) In the last year or so I've had a bit of an obsession with trees. I love their symbolism. I'm definitely going to be doing more in this direction. Click to enlarge photos
