Children can sometimes be a challenge to photograph because they don't always cooperate and pose like you plan. That being said, the most beautiful thing about children is they will truly be who they are. You don't find too many fake smiles and those angelic, playful looks are sincere. This shoot with Ryker and Lydia was one of those days. Lydia was tired and fussy from a restless night and Ryker was a ball of energy as ever. But this photo shoot was about capturing their personalities. Ryker was the fun-loving, sweet boy he is and Lydia was a mellow little doll. And when all else fails, sugar always helps!

Heather and Dylan had a gorgeous wedding and reception at Ivy Lane, the historical Eccles mansion in Ogden, Utah. As Heather has always wanted to go into wedding planning herself, everything from her ivory satin dress and soft, feather-filled bouquet to her gold, green and peacock color scheme was stunning. This couple exploded with personality, especially when they were together and friends and family were quick to join in which made it an extra special event. The staff at Ivy Lane were really helpful and worked hard to make their day even more incredible. It was a blast capturing the beauty, emotion and excitement of their wedding. Here’s wishing Mr. and Mrs. Jones many happy years together. To see more photos from their wedding day, click here.
I did John and Maygen's engagement photo shoot on Main Street in Park City, Utah. This shoot was extra special since it is my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law. My husband introduced them last year and his match-making skills must have been good because they have been inseparable ever since. It was fun editing these since John's eyes are the same bright blue as his big brother's.
One year ago today I had the honor of shooting John and Elaine's destination wedding on the sandy shores of Outer Banks, North Carolina. Since I moved my blog, I thought I'd post a recap of their special day. It was an amazing wedding full family, friends, tears of joy, a warm orange sunset, fresh seafood, sunflowers and ribbon, incredible live music, lots of dancing and even more love.
These two military lovebirds, Brittany and Logan, held their wedding at Camp Williams with a beautiful view of the Salt Lake valley. I think my favorite moment of the day was when the bride's darling little sister told the groom before the ceremony she'd kick his butt if he didn't treat Brit like a princess. Priceless.
I'm so excited to share this engagement shoot of these two high school sweethearts. They met on the school bus, fell in love and now four years later they're making it official. Enjoy!
This weekend was filled with a work photo shoot for an event in Farmington, an impromptu shoot off the Legacy highway, engagement photos in Sundance and pictures of a beautiful summer storm. From end to end of the Wasatch Front I had a gorgeous weekend of photos. First enjoy an engagement preview of Trevor and Jesse. A detour off Legacy Highway My dad and I talk about how hard it is to drive on Legacy because everywhere you look is so stunning you just want to stop and take pictures. Well this time I did. I had fun taking photos and I found a Led Zeppelin CD on the side of the road. A win-win. Rainbows to lightning from my window I was actually editing photos from this weekend when I noticed this gorgeous rainbow over the mountains. It was so spectacular I couldn't stop looking at it. Then the rain started and I couldn't resist catching some photos of lightning from the protection of my own home. This is my first attempt photographing lightning, but I'm feeling like this is definitely something fun to play with in the future.
Julie and Nate have been married a few years now and you can see from they way they meld together they're still as in love as ever. They were in town for her sister's wedding (on the infamous May blizzard last month...must be VERY good luck right?) so I am glad we were able to squeeze in this shoot. I skated with Julie growing up and later we coached together so it was fun to catch up and finally meet her hubby. We reminisced on a skating photo shoot I did of her for my photography final when I was still in college. Good times. :)
It certainly was a pleasure to photograph this beautiful girl and I can't wait to shoot the big day in July. From the delicate chiffon flowers in her hair to the form fitting satin gown gown, Heather just looked stunning. Enjoy this shoot at the Eccles mansion in Ogden.
